Very Fast Pace Line With Very Fast Crash by tmckibbon at Garmin Connect - Details

Getting stiffer by the second.

Please view the Garmin Data............ The Hawk Eyed among you will spot the fall using the speed graph. Also, for the adventurous types, please check the split corresponding; I do believe it says that, prior to the fall, we had a mile where we averaged 26.2 mph, that's MPH, Bob.

I should've known better to hang with the faster riders, though I do think, during the period (of three or four or five miles), it was a worth while interval.

And kudos to the two behind me who somehow miraculously avoided riding over me and my sprawl.

My first Yard Sale on pavement. Have had many on the mountain, skis and goggles and poles and gloves everywhere.

I knew it wasn't going to end up very good when I went off the side of the road and onto the dirt, then bounced back onto the pave, doin about 26 or maybe even a bit more. It sure was fun until then, though I don't think I could've sustained it for much more than another mile or so.

Watched a van role by as I was finishing rolling, hoped he wouldn't drive over my TC issued Uvex clear specs. Safety first.

Was hurting almost instantly, but thought, while scrambling off to the side of the road, 'Oh no, my bike'.

The guys up front said it was a very loud going on, and one said he could hear the wind rush out from within me.

Thanks to a very well designed helmet made by Specialized, my noggin is in tact. I do think it will require replacing.

Hopefully soon, I will return to the scene of the tumble, check the road for cracks. I'm sure that I cracked the road. I just know it.

Broke the cleat on my shoe right in half, saw that on the road too and wondered...........likely split when I was ejected off the bike.

Garmin 310XT smashed good (see photo of previous posts here). Hoping it all won't be too expensive but in the end, I really need to ride; only 40 days to go until the ride to Sea Town.

Thanks, many thanks to Michelle, who volunteered to stay with me and made sure I made it back, all the way back.

Apologies to the guys who were going along so well. I enjoyed the workout in that pace line, but was hurting, and really, I think I'm a year or two (and 42 pounds) away from being able to ride to ride like that.

Thanks to Nurse Melanie for dressing the wounds so gently.

And to Ellen, who pealed me out of the van.

And to Ben who made sure Daddy was ok.

Rob, Creston? Not so sure.

Dave, take some time off.

Rob (C), your formula is bang on; I warmed up quicker and was able to ride hard longer. Thank you.

Kerry, you and your little motor cycle gang can bite me.

Claudio, I want to stay home and labour over that red sauce.

Long Live Mos Isley!!!! (We'd have nothing to do otherwise.
